PSAT, SAT, and ACT Test Prep

The Tutor Me SOS Test Prep Program prepares your student for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT.

To begin, we offer a free diagnostic test.  Next, we identify the student’s strengths and challenges. Then, we customize the tutoring program based on each student’s results.

Practice tests are given regularly to measure progress. This continuous exposure helps alleviate the frequent and natural anxiety experienced when taking the actual test.  Extensive review of the student’s responses offers the opportunity to improve performance as we adapt instruction to student learning styles.

At Tutor Me SOS, we have recognized that the new standards typically lead to a drop in test scores until schools determine how to teach accordingly.  Our tutors address this by adapting test-taking strategies and knowledge of content to the individual’s academic situation and learning style.

The structure of a tutoring session includes:

• a general introduction to the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, including description of content and test-taking strategies
• numerous practice tests taken with and without tutor supervision, followed by extensive review of student responses, not only to content but to peculiarities of each test
• ongoing analysis and discussion of student performance and self-assessment to make continual recommendations regarding areas on which to focus, resources to boost vocabulary content and knowledge base, and various test-taking strategies
